'I don’t know what I want to do after high school.’

They Are Not Alone.

Many high school students feel unsure about what they want to do or study after graduation. At FutureU, we specialize in helping them find direction and purpose through personalized career and college major exploration. How do we do this? There are two options as part of our Mix & Match Package:

🔹 College Major Exploration
Our College Major Exploration is a personalized interview and insight session. We dive deep with students who might be deciding between a couple of major options (like which type of engineering to choose) or want to clarify specific paths within a field. It’s a collaborative process to refine what’s already on their mind and align it with their strengths and future goals.

🔹 Strong Interest Inventory
This research-backed assessment helps students who aren’t sure what they want to study or where to even begin. It goes beyond gut feelings or guessing—it measures interests, preferences, and ideal work environments to connect your student’s natural traits to real-world careers and majors. We provide certified interpretation to turn these insights into actionable next steps.

🙋 Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What’s the Difference Between College Major Exploration and the Strong Interest Inventory?
A: The College Major Exploration is a one-on-one interview and insight session. It’s best for students who already have a couple of major ideas in mind—like deciding between types of engineering or clarifying two or three options. We help them refine those choices and find the best fit based on their strengths, values, and goals.

The Strong Interest Inventory is a research-backed assessment designed for students who feel unsure about any major or career path. It’s a broader starting point—measuring interests, preferences, and ideal work environments. As a certified practitioner, I help interpret the results and connect them to real-world careers and majors.

Q: Which one is right for my student?
A: If your student is completely unsure of what they want to study, the Strong Interest Inventory is the best starting point. If they’re choosing between a few specific options or refining what they already know they like, College Major Exploration is a great next step. Many families choose to combine both for a well-rounded picture!

Q: How is this different from what my school counselor offers?
A: School counselors are amazing resources, but they’re often stretched thin and may only have time for basic surveys or general advice. Our work goes deeper and is tailored to your student. As certified practitioners of the Strong Interest Inventory, we provide personalized interpretation and coaching to connect the assessment results to real-world majors and careers—something schools just aren’t able to do.

Q: What do we do with the Strong Interest Inventory results?
A: The Strong Interest Inventory results are a starting point—not just a report. We’ll sit down together to interpret what the results mean for your student, connect them to college majors and potential career paths, and build an actionable plan. The goal is to help your student feel confident and clear about what’s next!

Q: Do you believe there’s only one perfect major or career path for my student?
A: No, I don’t believe there’s just one perfect major for any student. I always tell families that I won’t say, “Your student should be one thing and that’s it.” Majors and career paths change as students grow, and new fields emerge every year. Instead of focusing on one exact match, I help students find the best fits—choices that align with their strengths, interests, and how the world is changing. The working world itself is constantly changing—politics, emerging technology, and shifting industries create new opportunities and challenges that many students and parents might not be aware of. My goal is to help students feel confident and prepared for a future that’s flexible and full of possibilities, not limited to just one choice.
